Higgins House Makes its Film Debut (continued)

As you can see, there was some serious efforts put forth to create this independent film and for a director just out of college, I was amazed at the crew he placed together, the actor and actresses he casted, the story line, his ability to adapt during the filming, and his respectfulness of the use of my home.  For the entire weekend, the place was a mess as there were props left everywhere, and dirt from trampling feet.  But when the movie was completed, the crew did everything they could to make the house look as good (in our case better) than it had before they began.  My most memorable moment during the film was when they began filming critical scenes in the house.  The sound person would loudly communicate with the film person and all the way throughout the house you'd here "quite on the set."  Then during the midst of utter silence and complete stillness, my Siberian Husky decided to get up and walk around the hardwood floors making a clunking noise every reminiscent of a horse.  Instead of the crew getting upset, they laughed at the sound and that everyone in the house cooperated except the dog.  By the end of the movie, our dog Keno was also casted as a actress.  Just goes to show you that even annoying dogs can prove to be an important addition to any moment.

Thank you for letting me share this wonderful experience with you and we hope you enjoyed the pictures.  We will do everything possible to keep you all informed on when the movie is completed and where it will be shown.  The director's goal is to get it accepted in some of the independent film festivals and perhaps we may even see it played at the Enzian or around Sanford.

Sincerely,

Higgins House Staff
