Sometimes
location is everything. Downtown Sanford Florida is also known
as the "Historic Waterfront Gateway" which focuses
the attention on the beautiful Lake Monroe, Lake Jessup and
the Saint Johns River. If you looking for some sunshine,
than New Symrna, Daytona and Cocoa Beach are only 20 minutes
away. If you interested in experiencing downtown Orlando,
a quick 30-minute drive will get your there. Antiques
are encouraged to wander throughout downtown Sanford and our
neighboring downtown towns including DeLand, DeBary, Mt. Dora,
Lake Ivanho, and other prime shopping spots. Theme parts
are only 40 minutes so don't forget them in all the fun you
can have around Sanford. So if your looking for the beach,
touring around town, or just relaxing, it's all here.

the Victorian Setting in our plush large Parlor. The
Parlor is filled with turn of the century antique furniture
and area rugs with a central focal point near the oversized
fireplace. Have a seat, put up your feet and enjoy going
back in time.
Corcoran's
Pub
The Corcoran's Pub is a special family room at the Higgins House that is designed like an English Style Pub. If you're looking for a great room in the house to watch TV outside of your room while knocking back a pint, then this room is ideal. Sometimes there are even special beverages available that include Homebrew and Micro-Brew Beers from around the world. Every so often, Steve DellaSala
an Award Winning Beer Expert and Mead Maker (honey wine) can be scheduled to make your tasting experience more enlightening.

If you get board enjoying the sites, relaxing, sunbathing, roaming around our courtyard and Victorian Home, sleeping in comfort, peace and quite, seeing all the sites in Downtown Sanford, shopping, dining, Antique Store browsing, bicycling......, then we have yet another terrific amenity for you. The Golden Victorian and Royal Anniversary Suite each have their very own 19" LCD Televisions which include HBO and other special channels. Don't forget, there's also a large LCD TV in the Corcoran's Pub.

If you are a star gazer one of our locals has a self made telescope perfect for planet hunting. Sometimes he visits our Inn and offers our guests
an opportunity to look up at the heavens and gaze
at Saturn, Jupiter, Mars and the Moon along with several deep
sky objects such as the Orion Nebula and Andromeda Galaxy. For those enthusiasts who want a telescope of their own, the following article is a review he wrote of a Galileo Telescope.

The Higgins House Bed and Breakfast is more known for it's fabulous food prepared by our in house chef's. In fact, some of them have been featured on the cover of the Good Eating Section of the Orlando Sentinel. Not only are our guests pampered with luxury, ambiance and relaxation, but they are also well fed with delightful breakfasts and brunches and dinners upon special requests.
